Lillian Foster Larson Simonsen (1897-1979) was wife to the athlete Clinton Larson and mother to Clinton F. Larson, the poet. Lillian Foster was born on May 13, 1897 in Manassa, Colorado to Henry Foster and Emily Forbes Foster. She was the oldest of eight children. Clinton Larson was born December 16, 1892 in St. George, Utah, to parents John Thomas and Henrietta Riding Larson. He attended Dixie High School and in 1914 broke the Utah high school high jump record at 6'2" and then won first place at the national scholastic meet in Chicago, Illinois.
